The Origin Story

Cured by the Cape was born from a dream to slow down, savor more, and bring people together around good food and coastal charm.

Founder Katie Dougherty was born and raised on Cape Cod, though it took traveling far and wide to fully realize what a privilege it was to grow up in such a beautiful place. The salty air, the rhythm of the tides — the ocean has always been healing. And so the name, Cured by the Cape, is a playful nod not only to charcuterie, but to the restorative magic of the sea.

After years in customer service, teaching, and hospitality, and a life rooted in yoga and intentional living, Katie felt a pull to create something personal — something that combined her love for community, creativity, and coastal living. What began as a vision of serving artisan charcuterie from a seaside table quickly took shape, becoming an official business with its first event booked before summer even began.

From gluten-free and vegan options to locally sourced ingredients and customizable menus, Cured by the Cape isn’t just about food — it’s about experience, connection, and savoring the beauty of where we are. The mobile charcuterie bar may be a table, but the love and intention are unmistakable.
